This Week’s Episode: Exploring L.O.V.E. with Leslie Keele & CHAP

In this week's episode, President Monarrez sits down with Leslie Keele, PC History Professor and Program Coordinator for the Cultural and Historical Awareness Program (CHAP). Organized in 2002, CHAP enhances students' awareness of essential societal aspects through a "yearly" theme that faculty integrate into coursework, complemented by guest speakers, panel discussions, and more.

For the Fall 2026 semester, CHAP explores L.O.V.E.: Love, Obsession, Veneration, and Everything in Between. While we often think of love as sweet, history reveals something far more complicated—raising questions about when love threatens a government, when desire builds a frontier, or when devotion binds us to the land, to service, or to ancestors.

This season features five powerful evenings of untold perspectives at Porterville College, and admission is entirely free for everyone who brings an open mind.
